Dear Sellers,

Yet another busy month has flown by, and textbook season is upon us once again. We hope that everyone had a safe and happy Holiday Season.

2008 was an incredibly busy year here at FillZ, and we would like to take a moment to reflect back on it.

Here are just a fraction of the features that we launched over the past year:

  • Packing Slips: We added more sort options to the Packing Slips screen: Zip Code, Country, Marketplace and Ship Method.
  • "Custom" marketplaces/Chrislands: You can now modify Custom marketplace names and the name of your Chrislands store in FillZ. Confirmation emails and packing slips will display the names you choose.
  • Orders API: We now pass the purchase date and shipping cost in our API data for sellers using this feature to manage orders on FillZ.
  •   Export Orders: We've added new options to the Export page in FillZ. You can now export market specific prices, as well as items that are inactive, or have prices or quantities of 0. For details please click here. You can also choose to export all orders in a particular status: New, In Process, Complete, Deferred and Cancelled
  • ISBN ConsolidationSellers now have the option of consolidating ISBNs with the lowest price. If you would like to learn more about why or when you would use ISBN consolidation, click here
  • Inventory Input: When you enter an item into FillZ that duplicates an existing SKU, a link to the original item is now displayed with the error message.
  • New Order: When adding orders manually to FillZ, you can now edit the quantity and price of the listings. [see example]
  • Barnes & Noble.com purges: B&N.com released a new purge function to replace manual purges. FillZ began to support this new feature in June of 2008.

More Options: With the growing number of marketplaces available to media sellers, we decided to add three more custom slots on the marketplaces configuration page. You can now list your items on up to 9 Custom Markets. We also added PlayTrade as a supported marketplace.

CAMEX: This is the first show we will be attending in 2009. This year CAMEX will be held from March 14-17 in Anaheim, CA. Please stop by our booth, number 1025, and say hello to both Shaun and Marc.

Happy New Year!

News

Some of you have already seen the press releases, but just in case you haven't we would like to let you know about the purchase of our parent company AbeBooks by Amazon. FillZ will continue to report to AbeBooks and although we don't expect many changes, we are excited about making more improvements to our integration with Amazon. The official press release can be found here.

Please note that we made a slight change to our billing system, and that cancelled orders now need to be moved to cancelled status by the 2nd of each month to avoid commission fees.

In Progress

eBay re-write: We've nearly completed our eBay re-write and the new code is now going to the beta server soon to be tested. Once it has been fully tested, the new code will be rolled out to all servers. This will allow you to take advantage of eBay's new Item Specifics for conditions.

Ebay Core: We're working hard to support eBay's Fixed Price Core listings. That means that you will soon be able to list fixed price items on eBay through FillZ without needing an eBay store.

Recommendations

Looking for a quick and easy way to boost sales? Try listing on BNBQ directly. When you list directly on BNBQ you only pay 15% commission to BNBQ which can put extra cash in your pocket compared to listing through other means.

Please also check out the CS Tip in the column to the right for a helpful tip about removing unwanted text from packing slips.

Marketplace Updates

eBay - EBay is upgrading their store templates. Sellers are encouraged to preview their stores to see what they will look like, and sellers will have the option to opt-in to the new style prior to March when it is made mandatory. Please click here for more information.

Did You Know?

FillZ Has A Referral Program?

FillZ rewards clients who refer our business to their friends and associates. Here's how it works:
  • You spread the word about FillZ.
  • A new client references your FillZ user name or store name at sign-up. **It is very important for the new seller to use either of these two identifiers.
  • We credit your account in the amount that the new client pays to FillZ after the first full month of chargeable services.
It's that easy!
